కూచిపూడి ఆర్ట్ అకాడెమీ, మద్రాసు, సంస్థతో శ్రీ నాన్నగారి అనుబంధం నాకు గుర్తున్నంత వరకు 1963లో పనగల్ పార్క్ ఎదురుగా ఆ నాట్య పాఠశాల ప్రారంభదినాలనుంచే. అకాడెమీ నాట్య కార్యక్రమాల్లో గాయకుడిగా, వీణావాద్యకళాకారుడిగా, సంగీతదర్శకుడిగా వివిధ అవతారాలలో సహకరించారు నాన్నగారు. 1974లో శ్రీ ఘంటసాలగారి నిర్యాణం తరువాత శాశ్వతంగా కూచిపూడి కార్యక్రమాల్లో పాల్గొనడం ప్రారంభించారు. 1975 - 2012 మధ్యకాలంలో సంగీత దర్శకుడిగానే కాక వీణావాదకుడుగా కూచిపూడి నాట్య గురువు శ్రీ వెంపటి చినసత్యంగారితో దేశవిదేశాలలో వందల సంఖ్యలో ప్రదర్శనలలో క్రియాశీలంగా పాలుపంచుకున్నారు. 2012 లో శ్రీ మాస్టరుగారి మరణం తరువాత కూడా అకాడెమీతో ఆ ఆత్మీయ అనుబంధం కొనసాగింది. 1987, 1988, 1989 సంవత్సరాలలో భారత ప్రభుత్వ సాంస్కృతిక శాఖ ICCR ఆధ్వర్యంలో జరిగిన India Festivals లో కూచిపూడి బృందం సభ్యుడిగా పాల్గొన్న కొన్ని విదేశపర్యటనలలో సంగీత కళాకారుడుగానే కాక సాహితీవేత్తగా కూడా నాన్నగారు నిక్షిప్తం చేసిన తన విదేశయాత్ర అనుభవాలను ఈ blog post ల ద్వారా పంచుకుంటున్నాను. నాన్నగారు ఈ పర్యటనలలో దర్శించిన  స్థలాల గురించిన ఆన్ లైన్ లో ఉన్న మరింత సమాచారాన్ని ఫోటోలను కూడా జత చేసేను.

ప్రాగ్

ఈవాళ – 3-5-89    

Breakfast అయింది. మధ్యాహ్నం 11.30 కి Lunch తీసుకొని Bratislava వెళతాం. మా అందరికీ shopping కోసం 350 క్రౌనులు యిచ్చేరు మళ్లీ. వాళ్లు చెప్పినది సరిగా అర్థం చేసుకోకుండానే మాస్టరుగారు ఆజ్ఞాపించేరు – “ఈ డబ్బు రేపు ఎల్లుండి భోజనం కోసం, అనవసరంగా ఖర్చుపెట్టకండి” అని. తెలియని విషయం అంత గట్టిగా నమ్మకంగా చెప్పగలగడం సాధారణ విషయం కాదు.

అనుకొన్నట్టుగా Breakfast అయిన వెంటనే Bratislava వెళ్లేం. ఈ ఊరు కూడా Prague కి తగ్గిపోయినది కాదు. యూరోప్ ఏ చిన్న గ్రామం తీసుకొన్నా అతి శుచిగా, వైభవంగా ఉంటుంది. చిన్న పల్లెటూర్లు కూడా. విశాలమైన రోడ్లతో, మంచి గృహవసతి, వినోద సౌకర్యాలతో ఉంటాయి. Bratislava డ్యాన్యూబ్^*1 నది ఒడ్డున ఉంది. చిన్నప్పుడు జాగ్రఫీ పాఠాలు జ్ఞాపకం వచ్చేయి. డ్యాన్యూబ్ నదియొక్క ఘనత మాస్టారు చెప్పేవారు. అదినాలుగయిది దేశాలగుండా ప్రవహిస్తుంది. దానిమీద మధ్య స్థంభం లేని bridge. 

నదికి ఇవతల ఒడ్డు పాత ఊరు. నది అవతల ఆధునిక ఆకశ హర్మ్యాలు. ఈ ఊరు కొంత కాలం హంగేరీలోనే ఉండేదిట. హంగేరీ రాజు, రాణి వియన్నాలోను, బ్రాటిస్లావాలోను కూడా ఉండేవారు. రాజు, రాణుల కిరీటధారణ యిక్కడ church లోనే జరిగేదట.

మొదటి ప్రపంచ సంగ్రామంలో ఇది జకొస్లోవేకియాలో చేరిపోయింది. ఊరు మధ్య చిన్న కొండ. దాని మీద ఒక కోట. పాత రాజులు కట్టించినది.

In 1811, a huge fire raged through Bratislava Castle, destroying the main palace and more than 70 nearby houses

శిధిలమయిన తర్వాత ఇటీవల స్లోవేకియన్ ప్రభుత్వం పునరుద్ధరించింది. చాలా విశాలంగా ఉంది. అనేక గదులు. సంవత్సరంలో కొన్ని రోజులే తెరుస్తారట ప్రజలు చూడడానికి. ఆ కోటలో ఒక బావి^*2 ఉంది. 85 మీటర్లో లోతు. అప్పటికి కాని నీరు పడలేదు. మామూలుగా అయితే నీరు కనపడదు. లోపల లైటు ఏర్పాటు చేసేరు.

జకస్లోవేకియా దేశం ఒకటే. రిపబ్లిక్కులు రెండు. జక్ రిపబ్లిక్ ప్రాగ్ ముఖ్యపట్నం. స్లొవేకియాకి Bratislava. ఈ దేశం మొదటి ప్రపంచ సంగ్రామం తర్వాత సృష్టించబడింది. హంగేరీ, జర్మనీ దేశాలలోని భాగంతో జక్కులు, స్లొవేక్కులు ఆధిక్యత గల భాగాన్ని జకొస్లోవేకియా అన్న పేరుతో మన బంగ్లాదేశ్ లా చేసేరన్నమాట. ఇక్కడ ప్రజలు అందుకే హంగేరీ, జర్మన్ భాషలు కూడా అంత ధారళంగా మాట్లాడతారు. 

మొత్తానికి Sightseeing అయేక shopping. ఈ దేశపు ప్రత్యేకమైన వస్తువు crystals. వాటితో చేయబడిన ఆభరణాలు. Cut glass సామగ్రి. ఈ వస్తువులు బాగా ఖరీదుట. చి. కమలారెడ్డి ఏదో jug లాటిది కొంది. దాని ఖరీదు 850 క్రౌనులుట. మేము కూడా ఏవో crystal దండలు కొన్నాం. ఏది కొందామన్నా వందల ఖరీదు.

Bratislava has five bridges crossing the Danube River, with the iconic Most SNP (nicknamed the UFO Bridge) standing out as its most famous landmark. The futuristic 95-meter-high viewing tower and restaurant span directly over the water, connecting the city’s historic Old Town to the large Petržalka district.   

^*2The 85-meter-deep (280 ft) historic water well located in the central courtyard of Bratislava Castle, which sits majestically on a hillock overlooking the Danube River. Constructed in 1437 during the major Gothic reconstruction of the castle by King Sigismund of Luxembourg, the well is a remarkable feat of medieval engineering.  The well is 85 meters (278 feet) deep, with the water table sitting at a depth of 42 meters. Because the fortress sits roughly 80 meters above the Danube, builders had to dig deep into the hill to reach the water supply. Historical Purpose: Originally built to ensure the castle had an independent water supply during long sieges, it likely functioned alongside other rain-water reservoirs found in the fortress courtyards. Local Folklore: Local legend often associates the castle's depths with a "Well of Wishes," where visitors throw coins to make their dreams come true.
